Poverty is now an economic stimulator???

The Most ABSURD WOKE statement I have ever seen in a SB County budget document?

POVERTY has a stimulating effect on the economy???

POVERTY has been ascribed as having a multiplier effect on the economy???

The only stimulating effect these stats have, the only so-called multiplier effect, is the GROWTH of Government!!!

The Social Services dept is now the largest department in the County of Santa Barbara with 900 employees and a budget of $236 million per year (not counting the value of the benefits shelled out by the State and Fed government indicated in the chart below)

If you add up the average monthly benefits of these programs it comes out to over $75 million per month in “economic stimulus” of redistributed wealth courtesy of state and federal taxpayers!

The Social Services Department that administers these programs considers it an “accomplishment” that is serves 38% of the county’s entire population!!!

To sum up, the top ten Industries in SB County no longer include INDUSTRY (the best paying jobs in a healthy economy) BUT they consider government jobs an industry including the sector that doles out WELFARE!

Consider how many of the private sector jobs in this statistical profile of the “top ten industries” pay MINIMUM WAGES!!!
