John, June is Gun Violence Awareness Month.
This month, people across the country will be wearing orange and raising our collective voice to end to the gun violence epidemic because:
1. There have already been more than 180 mass shootings in the United States this year alone.
2. States like Utah, Tennessee, and Iowa are passing bills that allow districts to arm teachers instead of passing critical legislation to get guns out of our schools and communities.
3. Teachers, school staff, and students deserve a safer future than what we’re living through right now.
So our team at Teachers Unify is ramping up our advocacy and organizing efforts in June by speaking at events, and bringing more teachers and educators into our movement.
We have a lot of work ahead of us. So if we come together, organize, and advocate for better policies, we can be the movement that can end this national nightmare.
