Dear John,
I met Edward through the Liberal Democrats.
I was a social housing lawyer who wanted to change our country. So I joined a policy working group.
Edward did too.
And I had no idea how profoundly this would change my life.
You will know Edward as the leader of our party, as a public figure, as a campaigner.
You will have seen him on TV and listened to him on the radio.
You will know that he is a decent, clever, determined man.
But the most important thing about Edward is that he is the kindest person I have ever met.
Sharing our story has not been an easy decision.
For years Edward has kept the story of his life, his father’s cancer, caring for his mother and then his nanna, and our time at home, as a private, personal thing.
But we have come to realise - as a family - that our story is not unique. It is the story of millions of other families too.
In 15 minutes time, millions of people will see this film on ITV and BBC One. |
