Dear John,
You made a difference! The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) just released its final environmental assessment of the Ambler Road, a 211-mile private industrial mining road proposed along Alaska’s Southern Brooks Range. It identified significant and irrevocable impacts, including harm to one of the nation’s largest caribou herds and subsistence resources that provide food security for many Alaska rural communities.
If finalized, BLM’s “No Action” alternative will protect rural Alaska communities, vital wildlands, and wildlife by rejecting the Right-of-Way for the proposed road on public lands.
Please join us in thanking the BLM for this momentous decision and urge the agency to finalize the “No Action” alternative in its Record of Decision!
