Jack xxxxxx,

As we enter what may be the toughest couple of weeks since the COVID-19 pandemic began, we're staying focused on providing updates and resources to the #TX24 community. Please join us for our 4th Virtual Town Hall!

Our special guests include:

Dr. Carla Morton, Neuropsychologist at Cook Children's Medical Center, will talk about the impact of isolation on children and steps parents can take to mitigate its effects.

Christine Highfill, MSW, MA understands the educational challenges faced by parents in TX-24. As Mom to six kids, Christine has homeschooled for more than 20 years and is also a proud public school parent. She has kept kids learning during a variety of family crises. She homeschooled while she was bed-bound with a disability and during the combat deployments of her former spouse. Now, she's excited to share what she learned to help parents reduce stress and support kids' healthy development and academic progress.

Mia Witt is a special education teacher in Dallas ISD and Jess Lugo is an educator with H-E-B ISD. Both will share how their school districts are responding to the COVID-19 crisis, the challenges of distance learning, and tips for parents who are juggling working from home and home-schooling their kids!

Kamyon Conner is the Executive Director of Texas Equal Access Fund. Texas Equal Access Fund provides funding to low-income people in the northern region of Texas who are seeking abortion and cannot afford it, while simultaneously working to end barriers to abortion access through community education and shifting the current culture toward reproductive justice. When Gov. Abbot and Dan Patrick tried to exploit the COVID-19 crisis to restrict abortion access, abortion advocates sued the state of TX. Kamyon will give us an update on the abortion lawsuit working through the courts.
