As states continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, Republican governors
are taking decisive actions that promote public health AND ease the
financial burden on small businesses and workers. Small businesses are
the backbone of this country, and Republican governors are doing
everything they can to ensure that when the time comes, these job
creators are in a strong position to lead the economic rebound.

For example:

 

Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona issued an order directing commercial
landlords to stop evicting small businesses that can't pay rent during
the crisis.

Governor Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas announced that at least $16 million
is being directed to help businesses stay open.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida issued an order guaranteeing that any
money small businesses receive from the federal government during the
pandemic will not be taxed by the state.

Governor Chris Sununu of New Hampshire announced that minimum
unemployment benefits will increase from $32 per week to $168 per week,
and the duration of benefits will extend from 13 weeks to 39 weeks.

Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts announced a $10 million fund
that will offer loans to small businesses that with no payments for the
first six months.

These are just a few examples of what governors are doing around the
country to ease the economic burden COVID-19 has put on businesses and
