MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: The 2024 New Jersey Primary Elections will take place on Tuesday, June 4th. Polls are open from 6am to 8pm. This is a vital opportunity to make your voice heard and ensure our representatives reflect our values and the world we wish to see. As a collective, we can make sure that the right representation is elected up and down the ballot, and every vote counts towards this goal. The time to take action is NOW. By exercising your civil rights and casting your ballot, you are actively shaping the future of our communities and our nation. Let’s demonstrate the power of our generation by turning out in record numbers and making a difference in our communities—every election matters. Congratulations to our June Young Dem of the Month, Larry Traylor! Larry is a dedicated and passionate advocate for education and community engagement. He serves as the NJYD LGBTQ Caucus Co-Chair and is currently the youngest member of the Trenton Board of Education. Larry holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Africana Studies from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. During his time at Rutgers, he demonstrated his leadership skills as President of the NAACP. He later brought his dedication back home, joining the Trenton Branch NAACP, where he serves as the 2nd Vice President and Membership Chair. In addition to his roles with NJYD and the NAACP, he is actively involved with organizations like the Mercer County Young Democrats and New Leaders Council New Jersey (Class of 2023). Larry's career is deeply rooted in politics and local government. He worked as a compliance associate on Governor Phil Murphy's 2021 Gubernatorial Campaign, supported Teska Frisby's City Council races in 2022 and 2024, and supported Dan Benson's Mercer County Executive race. Larry now serves the Mercer County Board of Commissioners as an aide to Commissioner Samuel T.
