** Integrating child marriage, sexual and reproductive health and rights, education, and menstrual hygiene as a pathway towards gender equality webinar

** Date: 04 June 2024
Time: 12:30

Join Sonke Gender Justice and MenEngage Africa in collaboration with Girls Not Brides tomorrow, June 4, 2024, at 12:30 CAT, for the Integrating Child Marriage, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Education, and Menstrual Hygiene as a Pathway Towards Gender Equality webinar.

This webinar comes after the commemoration of International Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024. Given the many gendered barriers to education, including menstrual health management, this webinar is a critical opportunity to share perspectives and highlight ongoing work to support girls to complete their education, have access to SRHR services, and fulfil their potential.

** Objectives
* Spotlight the nexus between menstruation, child marriage, SRHR and education to advance girls’ rights.
* Demonstrate that sharing information about the menstrual cycle and biological & physiological changes will enable boys and girls to be empowered to advocate for the prevention of early pregnancy and child marriage.
* Enhance understanding of menstruation as a social and cultural issue that can impede the enjoyment of life for girls and women.
* Unpack the role of men as partners, agents of change in addressing social stigmas and restrictions that contribute to gender inequality.
* Bring stakeholders together for an intergenerational dialogue to spotlight education as a key enabler to achieve goals of other sectors.
* Highlight the impact of menstruation on girls’ absenteeism and educational attainment at school and importance of cross sector investments to advance gender equality through education.
