VIDEO OF THE DAY: Lifelong Republican drops nightmare news on Trump after conviction
Brian Tyler Cohen and xxxxxx Media's Tim Miller discussed the ramifications of the MAGA cult leader's unprecedented felony conviction yesterday and how the news will land with the millions of casual voters just starting to tune in ahead of November. "Let's just be real here. Being a convicted felon, 34 counts, having to be sentenced four days before the Republican convention, this is NOT good for Donald Trump. This a big problem for him," Miller said.

Trump says his witnesses were "literally crucified" in wild press conference attacking prosecution
One day after a 12-person jury unanimously convicted the MAGA cult leader on all 34 counts related to falsifying business documents to cover up hush money payments made to a porn star during the 2016 election season, Trump held a press conference threw a wild, meandering temper tantrum where he declared the United States a "fascist state," repeated blatant falsehoods, and cooked up some very tall tales, even by his standards. The convicted felon really ratcheted up the crazy when he turned his ire toward Judge Merchan, who he said appeared "so nice and soft" but was "really a devil" who "literally crucified" all two of his witnesses. Should someone conduct a welfare check? That sounds pretty serious!

Joe Manchin registers as independent, raising questions about future political plans
The West Virginia senator raised eyebrows on Friday when he announced he was changing his registration from Democrat to Independent, just months after announcing his plans to retire from the Senate at the end of his current term. Manchin, who would have faced a tough re-election in November against Democrat-turned-Republican Gov. Jim Justice had he chosen to run, did not disclose if he would continue caucusing with Democrats in the Senate, where they hold a wafer-thin majority. Democratic Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has reportedly been working behind the scenes to convice his long-time colleague to run for re-election as an independent and continue caucusing with the Democrats, a move Manchin has apparently yet to rule out.

Speaker Mike Johnson calls for Supreme Court to "step in" after Trump’s historic conviction
Republican House Speaker and hall monitor hobbyist Mike Johnson has predictably responded to Donald Trump’s historic guilty verdict at his porn star hush money trial by, why not, calling for the conservative-stacked Supreme Court to intervene in the appeals process and free the GOP's dear leader from the evil witchcraft and sorcery unleashed by godless Democrats hellbent on destroying America. Johnson trotted onto the friendly airwaves of Fox & Friends and — without an ounce of irony — said, "I do believe the Supreme Court should step in. Obviously this is totally unprecedented and it’s dangerous to our system. This is diminishing the American people’s faith in our system of justice itself and, to maintain a republic, you have to have that, people have to believe that justice is fair, that there’s equal justice under law." Oh, do the American people need to believe that justice is fair, Mike? That we have equal justice under the law? For a glimpse of America's actual two-tiered justice system, Johnson might do well to look in his own home state of Louisiana, which incarcerates its people at a rate nearly twice the national average and where Black residents make up 32% of the total population but a whopping 66% of the prison population. Give us a f*cking break. Donald was swiftly and unanimously convicted by a jury of his peers after 10 hours of deliberation because he was guilty as hell. Simple as that.
