The abduction of Elizabeth Smart was one of the most followed child abduction case of our time. Elizabeth was abducted from her home at the age of 14 and imprisoned for nine months.
Now, she has become has become a powerful advocate, helping to promote the international AMBER Alert system, the Adam Walsh Child Protection & Safety Act and other safety legislation to prevent abductions. She is the founder of the Elizabeth Smart Foundation.

How Sex Buyers are Identified and Their Involvement in Wide-ranging Criminal Conduct
Steve Woodson
was a sex buyer. One day, after meeting a prostituted woman, he held a knife against her and forced her to perform a sex act on him that they had not agreed to. Woodson then stole the woman’s money and left.
The woman reported Woodson to the police. When the police found him, Woodson was charged with felony robbery and involuntary deviant sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, as well as misdemeanor counts of theft, receiving stolen property,
and
patronizing a prostituted person.
Woodson’s story highlights
two points that are often overlooked.
First, sex buyers are often
not
arrested through targeted sex buyer interventions. Second, sex buyers are often involved in a long list of criminal conduct that extends well beyond the purchase of sexual access to another person.

Microsoft's GitHub: Open-Sourced Sexual Exploitation
Microsoft's GitHub is the global hub for creating sexually exploitative AI tech. Codes available on GitHub are used to “nudify” innocuous images of women without their consent or to create AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM, the more apt term for child sexual abuse material).
GitHub has policies against nonconsensual sexual content and the distribution of CSAM. But currently, these policies only apply to images posted on GitHub and are not applied to the codes that are creating this type of content.

Prostitution in Nevada Brothels is NOT “Therapy”
A recent news article
features a heinous attempt to normalize prostitution in Nevada brothels, comparing it to “therapy” for young men. The article explains that young men are living “intimacy-stunted lives” and suffering low mental health due to internet pornography
(TRUE!).
It then proceeds to argue that encouraging such men to buy sexual access to prostituted persons is the solution
(FALSE!).
Promoting prostitution to benefit the mental health of men ignores the
highly detrimental mental health impacts
prostitution has on the women who are sold
. It betrays a sexist and exploitative mentality in which prostituted women are seen as the “disposable” members of society, on whom men can act out all their sexual urges without concern for the hurt they’re causing.
Further, Nevada brothels are rife with sex trafficking.
The NCOSE Law Center is currently representing sex trafficking survivors in two lawsuits against Nevada brothels, including the one referenced in the article.
