Hi John,
This has been a month filled with legislative action in Sacramento, including some major victories I’ll be sharing in the upcoming days. Two weeks ago was our bill “Suspense” day, which is when legislators find out which bills are moving to the floor and which are dead. This process can delay - but never stop - critical progress. For the past 7 years, to reassure myself on Suspense day, I recite the mantra Rachel’s preschool teacher taught her students:
“You get what you get and you don’t get upset.”
I’m taking that approach to another suspenseful deadline – our end-of-month fundraising period, which hits tonight. After Friday, we’ll have less than 30 days until our quarterly report is due with the FEC.
I can’t control whether you contribute, but I want you to know that anything you give right now helps us to expand our reach and strengthen our campaign.

If we want to fight for Democratic values in Congress, we need resources. And although it may be hard to believe, a lot of our funds come from emails like this.
That’s why your support today is so valuable. If you can, please consider sending in a donation before midnight to help us reach even more voters next month.

Thank you,
