There’s so many things I love about running for office. Meeting residents face-to-face, working with dedicated volunteers and supporters, and finding new ways to improve the lives of working families in California are just a few of those things.

But there is one big aspect about campaigning that I don’t love: fundraising.

The fact is, running for office is expensive, especially in California. We need a lot of resources if we’re going to get our message out to voters across the state. Whether I like it or not, we simply can’t do this work without financial support.

Tonight marks our first fundraising deadline since announcing my campaign. Not only will everyone be looking at our numbers to see if this campaign is viable, but it will directly impact how much work we can do to continue reaching voters early and often.
