I’m glad I caught you before you break for the weekend, friend.

Midnight tonight means there’s just one month until we have to submit our next quarterly fundraising report to the FEC. Lots of people – from the GOP and special interests to our opponent – will look closely through our report to see if we have what it takes to win in IL-17 once again. 

We’re still coming up $1,679 short of our online fundraising goal. And with the stakes so high, I wouldn’t be doing right by my team or our supporters if I didn’t send one last email to try and meet this critical fundraising goal. Doing so would send a strong message that our grassroots support is stronger than ever.

Our fundraising goals aren’t random -- they’re the minimum amount we need in order to educate and engage the voters who will turn out and keep this competitive district blue.

And as we head into summer, the weather isn’t the only thing heating up – so is our re-election campaign. We’ve seen the GOP ramp up their attacks against me, and Mike Johnson’s Super PAC has pledged at least $141 million to win targeted races like mine.

You’ve been there when we needed you most. Right now, we’ll need all hands on deck as we weather another tough election. In a district this close, every grassroots contribution will make a difference.
