I’m reaching out about a serious topic. Yesterday, former President Donald Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts. He is the first sitting or former president to ever face trial or be convicted of a criminal offense.
But, the only way we can keep him out of power is to win at the ballot box in November.
Whether Trump wins or not in November, we need to flip the House. Control of Congress was a critical check even before he was a convicted felon and there is no path to a Democratic majority without our district.
I know we’re asking a lot of you right now, especially with the election in just 3 weeks, but you can see the stakes have never been higher.
A second Donald Trump presidency could mean cuts to Social Security and Medicare, the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, and the repeal of critical gun violence prevention laws. That’s all before attacks on our democracy.
Suhas Subramanyam is a member of the Virginia State Senate, former policy advisor to President Obama, and bridge-builder. In 2020, he was the first Indian-American, South Asian, and Hindu to be sworn into the Virginia General Assembly and served two terms in Richmond. Now, Suhas is running to represent Virginia’s 10th Congressional District in Congress.
Suhas is the only candidate endorsed by incumbent Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton.
