I’m going to be honest here: The results in the TX-23 runoff weren’t what we were hoping for. 

We wanted to see Brandon Herrera defeat Tony Gonzales, not just by a couple of votes, but by large margins. We wanted the anti-gunners to know that Americans – and Texans in particular – won’t compromise on our right to keep and bear arms. 

Sadly, we fell short. But we learned something remarkable about this race: Tony Gonzales spent $9 million on a runoff race and only came out ahead by roughly 500 votes.

Brandon Herrera was outspent 9 to 1 and came this close to winning a highly-contested race. Imagine what we could have achieved had he had the same financial resources Tony Gonzales did. 

John, this race proves just how vital it is for gun owners to be involved in these races where 2A defenders need support. 

We may not have come out on top in TX-23, but we’re doubling down and going all in to support our other candidates. We aren’t going to send them close to victory. We’re going to send them over the top.
