When Rosie was on a field trip, she fell unexpectedly ill and was rushed to the hospital. There, she received a devastating diagnosis that no child or their families should have to hear: She had cancer.
Typically a bubbly and energetic 7-year-old, Rosie had a lot of trouble adjusting to her illness. She hated feeling so tired and weak. But toys donated to the hospital where she was receiving treatment became a source of comfort and joy, helping her push through the toughest moments of her treatment.
Finally, Rosie was declared cancer-free, and she was given a wish to kick off the next chapter of her life with celebration and positivity. She knew immediately that she wanted to use her wish to help other kids like her who were still going through difficult treatments. |
