Right now, it seems like poll after poll is coming out showing Trump leading in key swing states. Surveys from the New York Times, Siena College, and the Philadelphia Inquirer found that Trump is leading President Biden in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. 

I wanted to share my thoughts about it.

These are key swing states — and while polls aren’t perfect, we can’t ignore what these numbers tell us. 

We have less than six months until the election. To avoid a Trump presidency, we need to connect with voters in key swing states over the coming months and talk about the issues that really matter — lowering costs, protecting the right to choose, and building an economy that works for everyone.

Donald Trump is a threat to our country and our democracy. He’ll drag our country backward.

If he wins the presidential race, he will work to ban abortion, loosen gun safety regulations, pass tax breaks for billionaires and corporations, and continue to destroy our democratic norms. We know this because it is what he has done in the past and what he is promising to do again.

By supporting President Biden and Democrats running in swing seats, we can energize voters and defeat Trumpism. But we can’t do it alone — and we must stay focused on what connects us, not what divides us.
