Friends and neighbors,?

I hope you were able to enjoy the long weekend and the lovely weather that came with it! ?

Last week, the 93rd Minnesota Legislature concluded its most consequential two-year session in state history. After many years of divided government and gridlock that prevented meaningful progress for our state, House DFLers got the job done through a host of accomplishments on center-of-life issues that will benefit Minnesotans for generations to come. This session ended with decisive action to avoid the extraordinary obstruction of our colleagues across the aisle that threatened to block our deal to increase compensation for drivers and keep Uber/Lyft in Minnesota as well as policy to improve the child care tax credit, enact new gun violence prevention laws, expand health insurance coverage for reproductive care, wigs for cancer patients, prosthetics, gender-affirming care, and so much more.?

In an economy tilted in favor of big corporations and the wealthy few, the House DFL Majority has focused on taking on monopoly power by enacting policies reigning in abusive and anti-competitive practices of big pharma, big tech, big insurance companies, and predatory lenders. We are supporting and investing in workers, families, seniors, and the next generation. The Child Tax Credit is projected to cut childhood poverty by one-third. We are helping seniors keep more money in their pockets and delivering property tax cuts and an improved renters' rebate program. We continue to invest in housing, early care and learning, food security, and child welfare. We reduced health care costs, including a cap on co-pays for prescription drugs to treat diabetes, asthma, and allergies at $25 for one month?s supply.?

My first term as your State Representative has been a remarkable one. But legislators are so much more than the debates we have and the votes we cast - we?re leaders, advocates for our communities and our constituents, voices for values and priorities that Minnesotans bring forward, and the ones tasked with doing the work of governing.?

The 24 bills of mine that have become law in some form cover issues like health, consumer safety, child care and early learning, property taxes, higher education, Bloomington projects, veterans and military issues, worker protections, elections, and campaign finance. But really, they represent the fact that I mean it when I say it: let?s get to work. You can find the full list of laws I authored below.?

Free Park Day

Are you ready to explore? Minnesota state parks and trails are waiting! The next Free Park Day [ [link removed] ] is Saturday, June 8th with free admission to everyone - no vehicle permits needed!?

Minnesota state parks are open year-round, and there's a state park within 30 miles of most Minnesotans. With a free day each season, it's a great opportunity to get out there and explore someplace new - or visit an old favorite at a new time of year! Whether you stay the whole weekend or just spend a few hours outside, you'll make memories that will last a lifetime. Find a state park near you using the DNR?s ParkFinder tool. [ [link removed] ]?
