Whether it's swapping our food, shopping habits or types of transport, we all need to make changes to care for our common home and our global family.
But we also need our political leaders to commit to making their own 'swaps' at the general election: swapping policies to ones that will protect our common home for future generations.
Great Big Green Week will take place next month and will celebrate ways people are caring for the climate and nature.
That might be by swapping to buy second-hand clothes, or swapping the ways we use land in our parishes or schools. It might be by swapping to renewable energy.
We know that each individual act makes a difference. Pope Francis has reminded us that everything we do to cut our emissions helps to reduce the damage the climate crisis is causing in marginalised communities around the world.
But as the Pope also points out, we need political action to make the biggest difference. So during Great Big Green Week, we’ll be letting politicians know what CAFOD supporters are swapping. We can show politicians how much voters want them to act on the climate crisis as they campaign for our votes at the general election.
Thank you for taking action to care for our common home.
