On April 26, 1777, the British attacked Danbury, CT. Henry Ludington, an American Colonel, needed help to rally the troops. It was Sybil, his 16-year-old daughter, who volunteered to go. She climbed on her horse, Star, and rode 40 miles and rounded up 400 soldiers. Sybil rode thru the night, from farmhouse to farmhouse, yelling “The British are burning Danbury!”
Without the volunteer spirit – there wouldn’t be an America.
That volunteer spirit runs strong in Oklahoma. Tested by tornadoes, toughened by hardship, when help is needed, we get to work.
Our campaign has a candidate, a campaign manager, and a staff. But it’s our volunteers that get the job done. This campaign is nothing without the volunteer spirit.
We’re fighting for a better future for Oklahoma. An Oklahoma that is moving forward instead of backwards, restoring rights instead of taking them away, bringing us together instead of dividing us.
We aren’t seeing marching troops on the horizon - we’re seeing MAGA extremist laws marching towards us that will strip us of our public schools, our social security, our Constitutional right to make our own decisions on how and when to start a family.
We need volunteers to round up the voters and yell out, “The MAGA extremists are coming!” Whether it’s knocking on doors, phone banking, stuffing envelopes – there are many ways to volunteer. We hope you answer our call.
