In November 2023 the coalition Government was formed to tackle some of our nation’s greatest challenges. We inherited a broken economy, a fractured society, and a country on a road to social disaster.  That road was paved with the breathtaking naivety and incompetence from a lost Labour government.


We campaigned to ‘Take Back Our Country’ – and that’s what we intend to do.


Our mission is to return our country to what we once were – the number one democracy in the world. Number one economy in the world.  Where we were the envy of others for our egalitarianism, unity, and national pride.


New Zealand First brings much needed balance, experience and common sense to the Government. More than that - we bring much needed steel to get our government through the hard times. 

Budget 2024 provides a much needed reset, by reducing wasteful spending, tackling bureaucratic bloat, redirecting resources to the frontline, and investing in critical infrastructure.

We are honouring the commitments that we made to you. We will continue to fight for and achieve everything that we set out to do.

This Budget has ensured that we;

- Get tough on rising crime with $226.1 million over four years to deliver 500 extra frontline police officers - and give them the tools they need. 
- Level up our regional economies with $1.2 billion for the Regional Infrastructure Fund. 
- Boost our future work force by maintaining Apprenticeship Boost with $65 million over four years and lifting tertiary completion rates by replacing First Year Fees Free with Final Year Fees Free instead
- Ensure continued access to the medicines kiwis rely on through a $1.7 billion dollar funding boost in PHARMAC

New Zealand First committed to reduce core crown expenditure as a proportion of the overall economy and to prioritise wealth creation and infrastructure over consumption.

We will deliver responsible and sensible government - while standing up to those in our society who seek to undermine practical solutions with woke ideology.

Our party will not take a backward step in addressing these fundamental challenges. We will always put New Zealand and New Zealanders first.
