Donald Trump stands accused of 34 counts of falsifying business records, and the jury is on the verge of delivering a verdict in the trial. But Republican extremist Derrick Van Orden wouldn’t even wait for the process to run its course before smearing our justice system with an avalanche of ridiculous accusations.

Van Orden tweeted “the Biden Administration has worked a miracle. They managed to combine a Banana Republic, a Soviet-style show trial, Mao’s cultural revolution, topped off with a Nazi-style judge and kept a straight face the whole time.“

This clown car of hysterical nonsense represents not just a show of support from January 6th insurrection supporter Van Orden to Trump as payment for his endorsement. It shows deep contempt for the rule of law itself and our very democracy, and nobody who would insult and demean the institutions we hold dear like this should be in Congress.

Democrat Eric Wilson is ready to send Van Orden packing, step up to defend our institutions from Republican extremism, protect our reproductive rights, and help flip Congress so that President Biden has the trifecta he needs to protect our democracy from radicals like Trump and Van Orden once and for all.
