Congratulations to Monique DeSpain on winning her primary in Oregon!

As an Air Force Veteran, attorney, and advocate for government transparency and reform, Monique has a consistent record of service and integrity. Monique served our nation for 30 years in the United States Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, and the Oregon Air National Guard, retiring with the rank of Colonel. Monique is a problem solver and brings people together to deliver positive outcomes. Concurrent with her military service, Monique worked as a legal consultant for a full spectrum of business and family matters including policy development, Veterans’ affairs, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. She volunteered for ten years as a Board Member, President, and Mediator with the Center for Dialogue & Resolution in Eugene, Oregon.

About Senator Thom Tillis

Senator Thom Tillis was first elected to represent North Carolina in 2014 and is currently serving in his second term after being re-elected in 2020.

Senator Tillis is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, and Judiciary Committee.

Before serving in the Senate, he was Speaker of the House in the North Carolina General Assembly where he played an instrumental role in enacting job-creating policies and reforming North Carolina’s tax and regulatory codes.

He lives with his wife Susan in Huntersville, North Carolina, and they are the proud parents of two grown children.
