Andy Wakefield ( [link removed] ) has made another anti-vaccine movie. This one is called Protocol 7 and you'll want to read a review before wasting your time watching it.
> "With the catastrophic regression of her adopted son, Lexi, a small-town lawyer, is confronted with the reality of corporate fraud at the highest level. Will she hold a massive corporation accountable in this true whistleblower story?"

Yes, that Andy Wakefield ( [link removed] ) ...
Protocol 7 - More Drama from Andy Wakefield
So what is Protocol 7 about?
[link removed] TIL that Julia Roberts and Eric Roberts are siblings and that Eric Roberts will do just about any movie he can. I can't wait to see him in Amityville Bigfoot, Jingle Smells, and Alien Vampire Busters!
Andy Wakefield ( [link removed] ) is pushing it as being based on real-life events in which a Merck whistleblower works against "a large pharmaceutical corporation accountable for allegedly fraudulent test results behind a failing mumps vaccine."
> “Protocol 7 tells the fictional story of a mother’s journey as she fights for justice after her child experiences a catastrophic regression following multiple vaccinations in a single day."
>
> Watch: Dr. Wakefield’s ‘Protocol 7,’ Premiering May 29, Takes on Merck’s Mumps Vaccine Fraud
But he is also very clear that it is just a fictional story!
Why didn't he simply make a documentary if he had such an important story to tell?
> "On 27 July 2023, Judge Chad F. Kenney of the Federal District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia) dismissed a False Claims Act lawsuit brought by two former employees – Stephen A. Krahling and Joan W. Wlochowski – against Merck, alleging fraud related to the Merck mumps vaccine."

> District Court dismisses 2010 Merck mumps vaccine lawsuit
Maybe, and I'm sorry to spoil the ending of the movie for you, it's because the mumps lawsuit ( [link removed] ) that Protocol 7 was based on was dismissed...
Mumps Vaccine Effectiveness
And what about the idea of a failing mumps vaccine?
[link removed] Do you think Andy Wakefield mentions how many lives have been saved by the mumps vaccine developed by Maurice Hilleman ( [link removed] ) ? About 2,379 lives saved in the US, just with his mumps vaccine!
While there may be some issues with waning immunity ( [link removed] ) in some situations, there is no doubt that the mumps vaccine works very well!
An Ohio mumps outbreak ( [link removed] ) prompted an education campaign to help protect everyone from getting sick.
Let's thank Andy Wakefield for reminding everyone that vaccines work ( [link removed] ) !
> "Almost 50 years ago, mumps was a disease that could leave a child deaf or otherwise permanently impaired. Thanks to Dr. Hilleman, mumps, along with measles and rubella, is now largely non-existent in the US."

Protocol 7 Movie Review
The synopsis for Protocol 7 says it is a "true whistleblower movie," but that should leave folks wondering why they changed the names of everyone involved...
In a true story, don't the names stay the same?
> "Based on real-life events, Protocol 7 follows Alexis Koprowski, a devoted mother and small-town family lawyer, Adrian Jay, a renegade doctor exiled from the medical profession, and Steve Schilling, a virologist at a prominent vaccine laboratory turned corporate whistleblower, as they work together to hold a large pharmaceutical corporation accountable for allegedly fraudulent test results behind a failing mumps vaccine."

> Protocol 7 Synopsis
And again that's because it isn't really a true story.
Sure, it is "based on real-life events," but even Andy Wakefield admitted that it was a fictional story that he hoped would be more entertaining to "engage people" and likely help him push his agenda against vaccines.
After reading about the actual whistleblower lawsuit, understanding how well the mumps vaccine works, knowing that the MMR vaccine isn't associated with autism ( [link removed] ) , and reading about Wakefield's previous fraudulent work ( [link removed] ) , few will likely think that Protocol 7 is anything than more anti-vaccine propaganda ( [link removed] ) .
They can't even keep from lying in the official trailer, when one of characters in describing the MMR vaccines says that "and we own the only one that works."
Of course, that isn't true, as there are three different combination measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines available that all work well, including the one made by Merck, another made by GSK, and a third made by the Serum Institute of India.
So don't let yourself be Wakefielded ( [link removed] ) - a term for folks have who have been scared ( [link removed] ) into skipping or delaying a vaccine, only to then get sick with a vaccine-preventable disease.
> "Protocol-7 may be profound for the anti-vaccination crowd, and it does bring an interesting whistleblowing story to the big screen, but ultimately is not a satisfactory cinematic experience. It chooses to forego artistic storytelling and thoughtful plot development for the sake of a charged message that feels overwhelmingly forced in its most crucial moments."
