VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump fan heckles Robert De Niro… instantly regrets it
The Biden campaign deployed its secret weapon — star actor Robert De Niro — outside Donald Trump's porn star hush money trial on the day of closing arguments, and there were fireworks. De Niro gave a rousing speech praising the Capitol police officers who held the line against the MAGA cult leader's seditious rioters on January 6, 2021, before being interrupted by a heckler, who called the cops "traitors." De Niro did not take kindly to the interruption or the insult.

Prosecutor says Trump tried "to hoodwink voters" while defense attacks key witness in last arguments of porn star hush money trial
The jury heard the final arguments from the Trump team, which mostly revolved around attacking the character of Michael Cohen (surprise!), smearing him as the "greatest liar of all time," which is funny since Cohen wasn't even close to the most prolific liar in that courtroom. The prosecution, on the other hand, made the compelling argument that “this case, at its core, is about a conspiracy and a cover-up. We’ll never know if this effort to hoodwink voters made the difference in the 2016 election, but that’s not something we have to prove...[Stormy Daniels'] story is messy. It makes people uncomfortable to hear. It probably makes some of you uncomfortable to hear. But that’s kind of the point. In the simplest terms, Stormy Daniels is the motive.” The jury begin their deliberations on Wednesday on whether or not to find Trump guilty for 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. It is only the first of the serially indicted con man's four criminal cases to make it to trial and our only real chance of holding him accountable for his actions prior to the general election in November. Let's hope the jury can put Trump's presidential candidate status aside and do what needs to be done for Lady Justice.

White House reporter confronts Biden spokesperson John Kirby on president's "red line" in Gaza: "How many more charred corpses does he have to see?"
CBS News reporter Ed O'Keefe challenged the State Department on its handling of the Gaza crisis, which continued to insist that the current IDF operation in the refugee-filled city of Rafah did not constitute a "full-on invasion" that would cross Biden's declared red line, despite the presence of IDF tanks in the center of the city and the recent airstrike on refugee tents that killed 45 people, mostly women and children. "How many more charred corpses does he have to see before the president considers a change of policy?" O'Keefe asked Kirby, who replied that he found the question "offensive." Kirby said "this is not something that we've turned a blind eye to, nor has it been something we’ve ignored or neglected to raise with our Israeli counterparts — including, Ed, this weekend as a result of this particular strike. Given that Israeli forces went and bombed the same area again on Tuesday, killing 37 more people, it doesn’t seem that all the "issue-raising" with Netanyahu has accomplished much of anything. If dozens of dead women and children — corpses charred beyond recognition — don't cross Biden's so-called "red line," it's hard to imagine what does.

Judge Cannon rejects request for gag order against Donald Trump in classified docs case
The Trump-appointed judge overseeing the disgraced ex-president's stolen classified documents case predictably rebuffed special counsel Jack Smith's efforts to gag Trump, saying that the prosecution hadn't sufficiently discussed the issue with the defense and that the motion was “wholly lacking in substance and professional courtesy.” Smith's team had apparently violated local court rules for meeting and conferring by not spending enough time explaining what was going on to Trump's legal team. “Because the filing of the Special Counsel’s Motion did not adhere to these basic requirements, it is due to be denied without prejudice,” Cannon wrote, adding, “It should go without saying that meaningful conferral is not a perfunctory exercise.” Smith's team is welcome to try again later, provided he invites Trump's lawyers to tea and biscuits and makes sure to tell them that their boutonnières look nice. In the meantime, the MAGA cult leader can continue to publicly tell his entire fanbase that the FBI was trying to kill him and all sorts of other preposterous nonsense. What are we DOING here, people?

Louisiana governor signs bill making two abortion drugs controlled dangerous substances
First-of-its-kind legislation that classifies two abortion-inducing drugs as controlled and dangerous substances was signed into law Friday by Louisiana Republican Gov. Jeff Landry. The measure affects the drugs mifepristone and misoprostol, which are used in medication abortions, the most common method of abortion in the US. These drugs have been used safely for decades and have a wide variety of medical uses, but that means nothing to the fanatical GOP extremists, who spin lurid tales of the pills being misused to coerce abortions despite all evidence to the contrary. You can be sure to see copycat bills filed posthaste in every Republican-controlled state in the country.

IDF opens probe after social media posts show troops burning Quran, other books in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces announced they were investigating incidents in which soldiers filmed themselves burning books, including a Quran, during operations in the Gaza Strip. One particularly inflammatory image, reportedly from Al-Aqsa University in Gaza City, showed a soldier posing in front of a bookshelf that was set on fire. The images provoked outrage on social media; Puck journalist Julia Ioffe, who is Jewish, wrote on Twitter, "I cannot describe my feelings on seeing Jewish soldiers burning books, including the Quran. After everything the Jewish people have been through, to repeat this kind of act... it is beyond disgusting and depraved." Israeli soldiers have been surprisingly enthusiastic about filming themselves committing unsavory acts against the Palestinians of Gaza. Israeli soldiers have filmed themselves destroying mosques, setting alight Palestinian food supplies during a starvation campaign, mocking stripped and blindfolded Palestinian civilians, and emptying heavy machine guns indiscriminately in civilian-packed cities.

Donald Trump sells private jet to Republican donor amid cash squeeze
The disgraced and extremely cash-strapped ex-president transferred ownership of his Cessna Citation X, worth $8-10 million, to a holding company tied to Mehrdad Moayedi, a right-wing, Iranian-American real estate bozo from Dallas. FEC records show that Moayedi donated nearly $250,000 to Trump’s re-election campaign in 2019 and 2020. Records show that he has also donated millions to other Republican campaigns, including Ted Cruz’s Senate re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee. Surely this is just two friends exchanging a plane and not, you know, a bailout from a billionaire who surely won't want anything in return should Trump weasel his way back into the White House...Folks, the corruption is right out there in the open for all to see.
Nikki Haley pictured writing "Finish Them!" on IDF artillery shells in Israel visit
The one-time presidential hopeful and reformed Trump bootlicker decided to engage in a little bloodthirsty cheerleading while on a trip to Israel, writing "Finish Them!" on an artillery shell Israel will doubtlessly use in its relentless and indiscriminate bombardment of Gaza, where more than 35,000 Palestinians — mostly civilians — have been killed. It just goes to show how deeply the dehumanization of Arabs is ingrained in American society that this disgusting endorsement of mass murder earned little attention or condemnation from the powers that be.
RFK Jr. may have made up wild story about bow-and-arrow ambush, throwing dynamite
It's just a simple misunderstanding! It was actually the memories of his brain worm, who witnessed a bow-and-arrow ambush in the wilds of Peru long before he retired to the smooth sands of RFK Jr.'s frontal lobe.
