“Re:power’s coaching training is something I continue to come back to as an organizer but also as a father and an uncle. The same way I was mentored by re:power, it is necessary that I mentor others to build a leader-full movement. We cannot shift a culture alone. Working with newer staff and interns at my organization who are growing in their advocacy, the coaching training I received taught me to ask questions and teach through dialogue. To be the sunlight that encourages the seed of thought to blossom. To draw out and not simply dump information. This practice has also influenced the way I parent and show up for the people I love.
