You may have heard the saying "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." The same can be said about extremist Republicans talking about their plans for rolling back abortion rights.

Donald Trump said he would ensure Roe v. Wade was overturned during his first run for president in 2016. That’s exactly what happened after he was elected. Now it’s 2024, and Donald Trump keeps bragging about being the guy who "broke Roe."

Now, Trump is saying that he would let red-state governments monitor women's pregnancies and prosecute those who seek abortion care. And given his track record on reproductive rights, we should believe him.

Our fundamental freedoms are on the ballot this fall. We must elect Democrats up and down the ballot to block Republicans as they try to repeal abortion access. Without the protections from Roe v. Wade, we need to elect state-level leaders who will stand up for us. Will you chip in $10 to the DLGA to help us defeat Republican extremists and fight for the right to choose throughout the nation?
