We want to encourage Republicans across the state to get out and vote in today's runoff elections. After today, every Texas Republican must focus on defeating the Democrats. The Texas GOP is dedicated to ensuring our voters support Republican candidates all the way down the ballot, helping us expand our majorities across the state and ensuring the 20th consecutive year of Republican leadership in Texas.

For Texas House Republicans, tomorrow will bring a great opportunity for all of us to come together. To ensure we can all unite against Democrats, we must first guarantee they are not picking our next Speaker. This happens by requiring House Republicans to select the Speaker in the Republican caucus with only Republican votes. We must also eliminate Democrat chairmanships, which give Democrats the power to kill GOP legislation and punish conservatives who fight for policies in our platform. Uniting behind reforms like those outlined in the "Contract with Texas" would address these structural problems in the Texas Legislature.

The Texas GOP has always had an attitude of cooperation with our elected officials, from statewide offices to the Texas Senate, Congress, and at the local level. We also have heard loudly from Republican voters who put these elected officials in office. Unfortunately, past Texas House leadership regimes opted to reject us and cooperate with Democrats, further dividing Republicans through an embrace of broken uniparty structures. We can’t make that mistake again. Together, we are always stronger.

At the Republican Party of Texas, we pledge to work diligently to elect every nominee in November and to hold them accountable to the principles and priorities of our party. Let’s all come together and row in the same direction.
