It takes a lot to put on a gala. We're shaking it up this year. 

We need be transparent: Love146’s need is especially critical right now. We’ve determined that it’s not the right time for us to spend additional funds and focus by hosting a gala in 2024. There are more children in need of our help than ever in our organization’s history. So we’re here to ask: Will you invest in this work to end child trafficking - even without the wining and dining ([link removed]) ?

We’ve hosted over a dozen galas and they’ve been really powerful! But this year we’re taking a break.

We’ve heard from people who’d prefer their gala ticket price go directly to fund our work and not to fancy meals. We’ve heard from people across the country that they couldn’t travel to Houston, or Connecticut to attend our events. We’ve heard from introverts who want to support this cause without all the chit chat.

So this year, we’re “putting on” our non-event: Not A Gala. None of the heels. None of the small talk. All of the love. Your donation is fighting for a future free of child trafficking. Thank you!

😕 What?! Is there a gala or not?

No. There is no gala this year. But we hope that people still choose to be generous even without one!

🤔 Then what is happening on June 21st?

Literally nothing. Not a physical gala. Not a virtual gala. Just relax and do whatever you want (and please donate instead of attending!)

😞 I look forward to your galas. What happened?

It takes a lot of staff time and resources to make our galas memorable, and we needed a break. Also… the introverts.

😌 Even if you’re not holding a real gala, can I still contribute?

Yes! Because we’re not spending money on things like decorations, feeding our guests, and hosting a cocktail hour, 100% of your donation will help combat child trafficking!

😓 But I’m gonna miss getting a dose of that special Love146 hopefulness up close. Does this mean there won’t be any more of your inspiring galas?

Founded in 2002, Love146 journeys alongside children impacted by trafficking today and prevents the trafficking of children tomorrow. Our prevention education and survivor care work has impacted more than 81,000 young people.
