Join us May 31st for our spring MMIWR workshop. This workshop is specific for families who have been impacted by MMIWR in New Mexico. Our goal is to help families understand the importance of media outreach. 

We will hold a healing space for families VIRTUALLY that will include speakers to discuss the topics of talking with media and social media awareness for MMIWR Impacted families. 

Our goal is to support and provide opportunities for families to engage in tools to help advocate for their missing & murdered loved ones in the community.

The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women's (CSVANW) is thrilled to announce our inaugural in-person Advanced Core Advocacy Training.

This training is for seasoned Advocates who have completed one of New Mexico 40-Hour state certified trainings conducted by CSVANW or New Mexico Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NMCADV). 

This training will provide current Advocates with advanced knowledge on topics relating to domestic and sexual violence, trauma-informed best practices, Protection Orders, and more. 

At CSVANW, we aim to help strengthen relationships with Advocates so they feel supported and knowledgeable so they may partner and work effectively with survivors in a time of crisis.

NOTE: ADVOCATES MUST HAVE COMPLETED AND BE CERTIFIED FROM A 40-HOUR TRAINING FROM CSVANW OR NMCADV TO TAKE THIS TRAINING. Thank you for understanding!

CSVANW's 40-Hour Core Advocacy Training for New Advocates will be offered next in November 2024.

Southwest Butterflies Retreat or SWBR is a two-day event for Native young people, ages 16-24, who identify themselves as LGBTQ2S+.

The goal of the event is to provide community education, prevention, and awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault. It is our hope and intention that youth feel supported, encouraged and reenergized while engaging and learning in a safe space.

CSVANW welcomes our Native Youth to attend our first, Engaging All Relatives Youth Workshop!  

We will be working with our Native Youth to define what healthy masculinity can look like and hearing from Elders on how to foster lifelong habits.  

CSVNAW requests parents or guardians of interested Native Youth ages 13-17 to register now!

The workshop will be held at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center on June 28th from 9 am- 4 pm, registration starts at 8 am.

The Sexual Violence Project Coordinator is responsible for the strategic coordination of the Coalition’s overall sexual violence project initiatives (training, education, advocacy, and prevention). Plans, implements, and evaluates the Coalition’s sexual violence projects in collaboration with tribal sexual assault programs and agencies across our service area. Coordinate project efforts for community-based education to service providers who work with Native survivors of sexual violence. Identifies the Coalition’s project priorities to build broader community awareness about sexual violence. Works closely with Coalition stakeholders and partners to identify issues, priorities, and develop strategies and community-based responses to sexual violence. This is an exempt, salaried position.
