Hi there. It's Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes.

Every Memorial Day, I take a moment to go back to this picture to remember the five Fontes brothers who served in WWII and fought fascism in Europe and the Pacific.

My time as a veteran in the United States Marine Corps is the reason I am a staunch fighter for justice and our democracy. I’ll always be proud of my time serving our country because it taught me the importance of fighting for our freedoms at home and abroad.

On this day, we remember the brave soldiers who fought for our rights and pay tribute to our fallen heroes. Today, I will be holding a lot of fellow service members in my heart. I show my utmost respect for our heroes and the Gold Star Families who have sacrificed their lives and families for our freedom.

Let’s come together this Memorial Day to advocate for ALL Americans by protecting our democracy from those who seek to undermine it.

I hope you’ll join me in honoring our brothers, sisters, and troops in service.
