As Memorial Day draws near, we, as Republicans in Wisconsin, stand united in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.

Throughout our state's history, from the days of the Civil War to the present, over 27,000 of our fellow Wisconsinites have laid down their lives to safeguard the freedoms we hold dear. Their valor and commitment serve as a testament to the enduring spirit of patriotism that defines our great state.

As we gather with family and friends to observe Memorial Day, let us take a moment to reflect on the profound sacrifices made by our fallen heroes. Their selflessness and courage inspire us to uphold the principles of liberty, justice, and democracy for which they fought so bravely.

On this solemn occasion, let us renew our commitment to honoring the memory of our fallen servicemembers by supporting our veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. Let us also express our deepest gratitude to the Gold Star families who bear the heavy burden of loss with dignity and grace.
