Folks: This could be a major step forward in protecting
Americans from senseless gun violence. But we must act quickly.
The Biden administration just proposed a new common sense gun safety law
that closes the gun show loop hole and bans assault weapons. [ [link removed] ]Before we
tell you more, we are asking you to sign our petition telling Congress to
support this bill and keep our communities safe. Please, let them know
that you support common sense gun reform.
Here is what you need to know about this bill:
It requires all gun sellers to be licensed, effectively ending the gun
show loop hole that allowed dangerous people the ability to purchase
deadly weapons with little to no oversight.
It institutes universal background checks so sellers can keep guns away
from criminals and those with a history of violence or severe mental
disorders.
It bans assault weapons and other instruments of war from being sold to
civilians.
We need this bill: Upon passing, it would immediately affect over 20,000
unlicensed gun sellers who are operating right now all across America.
