Today we remember the remarkable men and women who have served our nation and fought for our Freedoms.

It is a day to reflect and remember the extraordinary valor it has taken and continues to take to protect this nation that is a beacon of hope for the free world.

The news clipping attached was handed down to me by my aunt Cat after my dad had passed. My grandmother’s maiden name was Powers. This is one of the many stories shared with us growing up of the heroism of the Powers boys.

We must always share these stories and remember these sacrifices so the next generation never takes our great country for granted.

We must never forget.
