“Who gets what when and how" - that is Harold Lasswell’s classic definition. Politics is about resources and their allocation.
In modern life, “the personal is political.” That is the legacy of second-wave feminism and social movements from BLM back to the 1960’s. Politics is about recognition.
My politics honors both: a focus on resources and recognition. Law and economics, to be sure, but also sports, entertainment, pop culture, and identity. In short, almost any aspect of public life. And how it intersects, if at all, with my private world, and what is deeply personal to me.
This is Pai’s Politics.
