Jack, I don't even know where to start with this: Trump sent out a campaign fundraising email claiming that President Biden was “locked & loaded ready to take me out" during a 2022 search of his Mar-a-Lago estate for classified documents. In other words, a former U.S. president is accusing his successor of trying to have him assassinated.

This is of course completely bonkers. The facts are that the search for classified materials purposely happened at a time when Trump was not present at the resort. Authorities wanted to avoid any sort of encounter or confrontation with Trump.

The big problem is that right-wing media spewed this ridiculous untrue story all over their evening shows.

The freightening problem is that right-wing media still has a wide reach within the American electorate. Conservative media like Fox News, the Blaze, and the Daily Wire dwarf progressive media. We need to change that if we're going to win in the long-run. Simply put, it's not enough for progressive, independent news like Daily Kos to survive in these difficult financial times, we need to thrive.

Daily Kos has succeeded because we do things differently than any other media organization around. We are the country's first and only participatory, grassroots-funded, news and activism hub. Above all, we are unapologetically progressive.
