Less than a week from now, our grassroots campaign will face our next
end-of-month fundraising deadline, and my team tells me we’re still about
$4,127 away from our May goal.

In a moment, [ [link removed] ]I’m going to ask if you can pitch in any amount to help us
get there, but before I do, I hope you’ll let me explain why your
contribution matters.

My job as your attorney general is to fight for the rights and well-being
of every Californian. Unfortunately, there are a lot of attacks being
waged against our vulnerable communities and some of our most basic
rights, here and across the country.

Right-wing extremists continue to chisel away at reproductive rights with
dangerous abortion bans and restrictions.

Big polluters are pumping greenhouse gasses into our atmosphere, fueling
climate change and its devastating impacts like wildfires and flooding.

Donald Trump and the GOP are trying to take back the White House this
November, threatening our democracy with plans to persecute their
political opponents while rolling back rights for immigrants, women, and
LGBTQ+ people.

I’m actively working to stop these attacks and more. It’s a busy job,
which is why I don’t often have spare time to fundraise. That’s where this
grassroots movement comes in!

We are a people-powered campaign moving California forward for progress
and justice for all, and we need to stay prepared for any fights that come
our way.
