(Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas -- May, August 24, 2024) The Little Rock Freedom Fund, led by Ms. Dawn Jeffrey, Ms. “Queen” Lakeslia Mosley, and Dr. Quintessa Hathaway will be hosting a commemoration march to honor the legacy of Mr. George Floyd on the four (4) year anniversary of his forceful and fatal loss of life via a knee on his neck for over nine minutes by a Minneapolis, Minnesota police officer; as well as fourteen (14) Arkansans who were victims of police brutality from 1910 to present-day, and to re-highlight the Maly’s Entertainment Center Racist Brawl which occurred on January 6, 2024.
Furthermore, they are calling upon the 117th United States Congress and the Arkansas Legislature to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act as a step toward creating a humane social paradigm where people of all faiths, races, ethnicities, orientations, and nationalities will not be affected by police brutality and racial injustice.
This moment, this march is a rallying point for communities across Arkansas and the United States of America. Impacted families and organizers are calling on all faith leaders, civic groups, the youth, and all who are passionate about this cause to join them on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 2PM Central. The route will begin at the Northwest corner of Harkrider and Oak Streets to the Faulkner County Courthouse at 801 Locust Avenue in Conway, Arkansas.
