As the proud wife of David Flippo and an American who has witnessed true sacrifice and dedication. My husband, David, has devoted over two decades of his life to serving our great country in the United States Air Force, leading more than a thousand men into combat. Those years weren’t easy for our family; the kids and I often faced days, sometimes weeks, not knowing where David was when he was deployed in the Middle East.
I was shaken to my core when I heard John Lee’s comments about David. To hear another person call my husband a “nobody,” to reduce his sacrifice and leadership to merely “taking orders,” and to claim he “hasn’t done anything for the community” with “no value there” is not only untrue, it’s deeply disrespectful. These remarks are an insult not only to David but to all who have worn our country’s uniform and their families who have supported them.
David is far from a “nobody.” He is a hero to our family and to his country. Beyond his military service, David has been a pillar in our community, always leading with integrity and a deep commitment to improving the lives around him. His actions have always spoken louder than words, from working with local women’s clinics, to helping the homeless in the tunnels of Las Vegas, to volunteering with veteran’s groups and serving as a financial advisor to those in need.
It's disheartening and frankly disgusting that someone who aspires to public office would stoop so low as to diminish the genuine contributions of a veteran. This isn't just about David—it's about respecting each individual who has served and continues to serve our nation.
