Carroll ISD, the First School Board in the Nation to Sue the Biden Administration to Protect Texas Girls!

The Carroll Independent School District, located in Southlake, Texas, became the first school district in Texas and the United States to sue the Biden Administration for their rewrite of Title IX, that attacks the rights and freedom of girls in the state of Texas.

Carroll ISD has a well-known history of standing up for parental rights and First Amendment rights. In 2020, Texas Values worked with parents and families in Carroll ISD to stop a LGBT-focused Cultural Competence Action Plan (CCAP) and has continued to provide support to parents with Carroll ISD since that victory.

Texas Values was the leading organization to advance legislation (HB 23) to protect girls in K-12 UIL sanctioned sports from being forced to compete against boys. To learn about this law that was signed by Governor Abbott in 2021, please visit SaveWomensSportsTexas.com.

Texas Values has also created a series to educate parents and families in Texas about the changes to Title IX in a series, “5 Things to Know About Title IX”. To read more about the Department of Education’s rewrite of Title IX, visit txvalues.org.
