Jack, last week, the New York Times broke the story that Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., flew an upside-down American flag—a symbol adopted by Trump supporters who falsely claimed that President Biden had stolen the office—outside of his home in January 2021.

This is a big deal because this Supreme Court is currently weighing a case about whether or not Trump is immune from insurrection crimes.

Meanwhile, Justice Clarence Thomas has accepted numerous unethical gifts from people that had cases before the Court and, oh yeah, his wife played a role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election.

Add in Trump's court appointments of Justices Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett and this could be one of the most corrupt benches in our history.

I am sorry to tell you this but if Trump wins it will only get worse.

By the end of the next presidential term in 2028 Thomas will be 80, Alito 78, and Sonia Sotomayor, who has chronic health problems, will be 73. That means whoever the next president is may nominate three more justices to the bench.

If Trump wins, we can count on Federalist Society-handpicked nominees. However, if Biden wins a second term, there is the possibility that the ideology of the court could shift to the political left.

We need to protect our basic rights and democracy by not only defeating Trump, but also safeguarding the nomination process by helping Democrats keep control of the Senate. Donate $5 to our Get Out the Vote efforts.
