Dear John
With key elections approaching and their party increasingly on the nose with voters, Labor governments are splashing taxpayers’ money around like there’s no tomorrow.

No-one’s going to argue that Australian families don’t need cost-of-living relief, because many of them do. The Albanese Labor government’s $300 energy rebate, however, doesn’t address the underlying cause of record electricity prices. That is renewable energy and the major parties’ reckless rush to net-zero, which attracts a lot more taxpayer funding than Albo’s rebate.
And now, three weeks out from the State Budget, Queensland Labor Premier Stephen Miles has announced his government will abandon spending restraint and forecast surpluses to finance “the biggest spending spree in Australian history,” which we already know includes a $1000 energy rebate. It’s expected the new cash splash will plunge Queensland – already with $47 billion in state government debt – another $3 billion in the red.

____________
Miles calls it “the biggest cost-of-living package of any state ever in Australia”. The Treasury Department says total Queensland government debt will surge to $188 billion by mid-2027. That’s almost as bad as Victoria’s debt. It’s also a direct path to greater inflation – higher costs for essentials like energy, petrol and groceries. One Nation calls it desperate vote buying by a Premier facing a crushing election defeat in October due to his government’s failures on housing, the cost of living and rising crime.
In the meantime, One Nation continues to campaign for non-inflationary measures that relieve the rising cost of living (with a major focus on independent energy policy that prioritises affordability rather than climate change), effective policies to addressyouth crime <[link removed]>and thehousing crisis <[link removed]>, and forregional communities <[link removed]>to have a stronger voice in the halls of power after being neglected by the major parties.

This week, our hapless, hopeless, and horrendous Prime Minister teams up with his loyal lieutenant, Adam Bandt, to try and destroy Pauline Hanson. The wily ol' Albo is no match for our 70 year ol' fox, Miss Senator Pauline Hanson, though.
