The most important gun safety bill that we’ve passed during my time as
State Senator was recently signed into law.
The law, which requires a permit to purchase a handgun, will do more than
any other to curb the kind of gun violence we most frequently see in
Delaware.
It will keep our guns off our streets.
It will help prevent suicides.
It will save lives.
Everyone
deserves to feel safe in their community. That’s why I’m proud to have
voted for meaningful, common-sense gun safety policies like this one — and

individuals from getting guns, and strengthening background checks.
Fewer policies are more urgent and high stakes. That’s why in the State
Senate, I’ve stood up to the NRA, rolled up my sleeves, and passed
historic gun safety reform like my legislation banning guns in our
schools.
