I knew what following my grandfather’s footsteps meant… Spending months away from my wife and young daughters… Entering hostile war zones… Even giving the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.

I enlisted in the United States Air Force anyway because I knew then when I was 18 what I still know now – America is worth fighting for and God is always with me.

When I flew into combat, when each one of my girls were born, and when I faced tough decisions in Congress, I often think back to the word of God, to verses like Isaiah 41:10.

God has guided me through every stage of my life and he is the foundation of my leadership to our country. Our nation needs leaders who turn to God for guidance and lead as humble servants of God.

My name is August Pfluger. I'm a Christian, an Air Force Veteran, a husband, a father to three daughters, and a tried and true Conservative.

During my nearly two decades of service, I logged over 300 hours of direct action against ISIS and led hundreds of combat airmen. I also had the honor of serving on the National Security Council, where I directly advised the President.

I am not a career politician. I'm a lifelong Texan who ran for office to defend our American values of faith, family, and freedom.
