Alito has yet to throw his wife, Martha Bomgardner, under the bus for this most recent seditious transgression, but there's still plenty of time to blame her (again!) for the pro-insurrection “Appeal to Heaven” flag they have proudly displayed atop their vacation home on numerous occasions. All those impassioned warnings Haley shared on the campaign trail for months on end about the existential threat the MAGA cult leader posed to the future of American democracy? Overblown, apparently. When people complain about disingenuous politicians willing to say anything to win a race or maintain even a modicum of relevance, this is exactly what they are talking about. Shameful stuff, Nikki.

The serially indicted ex-president sent a ridiculous fundraising email to his MAGA minions and ludicrously claimed that President Biden was "locked and loaded ready to take me out" during the FBI’s 2022 search for stolen classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, marking the first time in modern US history that a former president accused his successor of trying to kill him. Never mind the fact that the bureau already testified it chose a day Trump would not be on the premises for the raid and let the Secret Service know ahead of time to prevent any drama, or that the search warrant followed standard protocol and included ready-made, boilerplate language used in thousands of previous court-approved searches. Not to be outdone, Marjorie Taylor Greene chimed in on nüTwitter, claiming that the Justice Department and FBI under Biden “were planning to assassinate Pres Trump and gave the green light." “What are Republicans going to do about it?” she asked. Oh, I dunno, maybe fundraise and fearmonger?

Greenhouse gases are pollutants that are wrecking the marine environment, and states have a legal responsibility to control them, an international court has stated in a landmark moment for climate justice. Wealthy nations must cut their emissions faster than their developing peers, the court also decided. The statements were part of an advisory opinion on climate change issued on Tuesday by the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), marking the first time such a document has been issued by an international court. Will any of this lead to tangible action? Time we don't have will tell.

Family members of Uvalde school shooting victims reached a $2 million settlement with the Texas city over the horrific 2022 rampage. The group also said they're filing lawsuits against dozens of Texas Department of Public Safety officers and Uvalde's school district. Among them — a $500 million federal suit against nearly 100 state police officers who took part in the botched law enforcement response that left 19 elementary school children and two teachers dead. Law enforcement officers, armed with enough weapons to overthrow a small nation-state, finally killed the lone gunman in a classroom after waiting more than an hour to confront him while innocent, young lives were lost.

Israel, of course, had the right to defend itself against the Hamas terrorist attack, but what Netanyahu has done is go to war against — all out war — against the entire Palestinian people, women and children. 5% of the population is now dead or wounded. 60% of them are women and children. Some 200,000 housing units have been completely destroyed. Every university in Gaza has been bombed. There is now imminent starvation taking place. So why you would invite somebody who has done such horrific things to the Palestinian people is something that I think is a very bad idea."

The feud between South Dakota’s puppy-killing governor and indigenous Native American tribes in her state escalated again on Wednesday as the ninth of the nine recognized tribes in the state voted to ban the teller of very tall tales from their lands. Noem’s feud with the tribes stems from a number of reasons, including disputes between the state government and tribal leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic and her efforts to save the doomed Keystone XL pipeline project. But Noem most recently drew the withering ire of Native American leaders after accusing tribes of allowing drug cartels from Central America to operate on their territory.
