LOGO [[link removed]]Team,

I have always believed that transparency is one of the most important characteristics in an elected official. We elect politicians to represent US – not big donors and party bosses. Elected officials should talk to their constituents, hear their concerns, and publicly stand by their policies.

Maine’s senior Senator Susan Collins has not had a town hall in years. In the Democratic primary, not all candidates are willing to participate in debates or candidate forums. I believe candidates for Maine’s Senate seat should have an open discussion about where we stand and why we think we deserve to represent our state in Washington. Do you agree?

As a candidate, I am happy to speak to voters, hear their concerns, and tell them how I plan to help. Voters deserve to hear directly from me: hear my background, my record, and my positions on important issues that impact their lives.

Susan Collins refuses to do this for her constituents. We should replace Susan Collins – but we need full discussion and debate among the candidates who wish to do so.

Mainers deserve to hear directly from the candidates that wish to represent us. Sign here if you agree! [[link removed]]

When I become Senator I want to hear directly from YOU. I want to have conversations with Mainers about your priorities. Because that is what a Senator should do.

In solidarity,

Betsy Sweet
