It’s Kevin with the DLGA. I have some big news to share – Tobias Read is officially the Democratic nominee for Oregon’s Secretary of State!
This November, Tobias will be up against Dennis Linthicum — a Republican Senator who pushes voter fraud and COVID conspiracies and supported overturning the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Whether or not you live in Oregon, we need everyone’s support in this race because the Secretary of State is the chief elections administrator and we cannot let a far-right Republican win this seat. Will you chip in $7 help us protect our democracy from a far-right takeover this November?
Make no mistake – this year’s election is a choice between democratic principles and right-wing authoritarianism. We live in unprecedented times where trust in our elections is at an all-time low, and we have Donald Trump’s lies to thank for that. But in order to defeat Trump and his MAGA cronies across the country, we must ensure that the leaders we choose help heal our country and move forward.
Tobias Read has been steadfast in his support for Oregon’s people and our democracy. As State Treasurer, he bolstered the education system, safeguarded residents' retirement funds, and ensured workers were fairly compensated. He’s trustworthy, and while it’s tragic we even have to say this, he doesn’t go around parroting conspiracy theories from Donald Trump. Tobias is the right leader for this fight, and the right person to be Oregon’s next Secretary of State.
