Dear CSSJ Member,
Ten years ago, Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice started hosting an annual advocacy day at the California state capitol called "Survivors Speak." Since then, we've hosted Survivors Speak at state capitols in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Survivors Speak aims to elevate the voices of crime victims, particularly from communities most affected by crime, to share our stories, heal together, and call for new safety priorities that put our experiences at the center of efforts to reduce crime, improve community health, reform our criminal justice system, and advocate for smart justice policies that transform families, communities, states, and the country.
This year, we are excited to announce that Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice and the Alliance for Safety and Justice are hosting the first-ever Crime Survivors Speak March on Washington, DC, on September 23 & 24, 2024.
