Welcome to another edition of FT Now! As we prepare to observe and celebrate Easter this weekend (from the quiet of our own homes!), there’s no better time to remember that dark times don’t last forever. Rebirth is coming and when it does, it will be sweeter than ever. Now to the news. Former S.C. Governor Nikki Haley has a piece in the New York Times explaining why we should be looking to our governors in a time of crisis. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is taking some heat for her public feuding with President Trump. Last but not least, everyone’s favorite congresswoman is back with another dig at America. Yes, seriously. Nikki Haley: Focus On Your Governor, Not Trump
What Happened:
Former South Carolina Governor and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley took to the pages of the New York Times to remind Americans that President Trump’s decision to let governors make decisions for their own states is exactly how things are supposed to work!
Why You Should Care:
The president has been criticized for letting governors execute their own Coronavirus strategies, but as Haley writes: "Once a crisis hits, state responsibility is primary. The federal government can provide crucial resources, but the burden is on the governor and her team to distribute them. No two states are alike, and blanket approaches won’t work."
What Happens Next:
Governors continue to lead efforts in their states to slow the spread of Coronavirus!

Whitmer, who many speculate is on Joe Biden’s list for potential running mates, has frequently the Coronavirus pandemic to publicly feud with President Trump. The Detroit News is right to question whether that is actually helping her constituents.
What Happens Next:

AOC Says Coronavirus Proves U.S. Is A "Brutal, Barbarian Society"
What Happened:
Democratic-Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said this week that the Coronavirus pandemic proves America is a "brutal, barbarian society" for the "vast majority of working-class Americans."
Why You Should Care:
Could it be any clearer just how much the radical left despises America? In the eyes of Democrats like AOC, the absence of extreme policies like Medicare For All means the U.S. is an evil place. That - and trashing America during a time of crisis - is just wrong.
What Happens Next:
Democrats have, over and over again, used Coronavirus to try and push their progressive policy agenda. It needs to stop.
