Hi John,

Yes, you heard it right. Republicans, like radical Texas Senator Ted Cruz, think families across Texas and our nation should pay MORE for internet access each month.

Right now, Republicans are witholding funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) — which has helped ensure access to the internet —  hostage because of their petty, partisan politics.

High-speed internet, which the ACP connects Americans to, has become as essential as electricity and running water. It’s a lifeline – for education, health care, employment and more. But too many Texans don't have access to this vital resource.

That is why Democrats and Republicans came together to pass the Bipartisan Instratructure Law in 2021 that helped create this vital program. But now, the future of this program is being jeopardized by political inaction by right-wing politicians.

The path forward is clear. Republican extremists, like Ted Cruz, must stop the purposeful inaction and Congress must fully fund the ACP.

It shouldn't be political or controversial to ensure that everyone can access cheaper access to reliable, high-speed internet — regardless of their ZIP code.

The new TX-33

Growing up in Fort Worth’s historic Como neighborhood, I used to dream about opportunities that would allow me a chance to experience things that filled my imagination; about American heroes and fascinating places in our country. I dreamed that I could one day make a difference in the lives of my friends and neighbors. It was that simple goal that eventually led me to Washington and the halls of Congress.

For over a decade, I have been humbled by the ongoing support and encouragement of the community that raised me. Today, I’m asking for it again.
